SKALA (made to measure)
The basis materials for this site-specific work are: 1. photocopier 2. paper 3. red pen.

To begin with nothing was placed on the plate – a copy is taken. When a blank piece of paper comes out of the machine, a counting mark is made on it with the red pen in the upper left corner.
Now this paper with nothing but a red mark on it is copied – when the second piece of paper comes out, another red line is made next to the black copy of the first red line. The process continues in this way, and out of the initial nothingness, shadows appear that turn into images of their own, while the counting marks increase in number but at the same time start to disappear through the abstraction of the feedback.

The piece was made to fit the wall it was to be exhibited on; to make a perfect rectangle, 84 A4-papers were to be produced. Thus, the process was ended, when 84 copies had been made.

Skala (made to measure) has been shown at my open studio exhibition at Gasworks, London, GB, Sept. 2009 as well as at Machwerket in Århus, Nevember – January 2010.
